Ather Energy and Infineon Technologies Collaborate to Boost EV Safety, Performance

Ather Energy

Bengaluru: Ather Energy has announced a strategic collaboration with Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, a global leader in semiconductor solutions.

The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Seoul, aims to accelerate innovation and enhance the energy efficiency, safety, and performance of Ather’s electric scooters and EV charging systems.

With India rapidly emerging as a global hub for electric vehicles, this partnership marks a pivotal step toward achieving the country’s EV sales target of 30% by 2030.

The collaboration will leverage Infineon’s cutting-edge semiconductor solutions, including wide-bandgap materials such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN), microcontrollers, and automotive-grade sensors. These technologies will be integrated into Ather Energy’s Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) to deliver scalable, energy-efficient solutions tailored for India’s evolving EV ecosystem.

Swapnil Jain, Co-founder, Executive Director & CTO, Ather Energy, stated: “At Ather, performance, reliability, and efficiency form the foundation of our engineering philosophy. Partnering with Infineon empowers us to reimagine core systems – right from charging to safety – with the most advanced semiconductor technologies available. This collaboration will not only elevate our products but also contribute significantly to building a robust and cost-effective EV ecosystem in India.”

Infineon’s expertise in power electronics, system integration, and EV-ready components is expected to play a transformative role in scaling up sustainable mobility solutions in India’s high-growth two-wheeler market.

Peter Schaefer, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, Automotive at Infineon, added: “Electric two-wheelers are central to India’s EV transition, and we are excited to partner with Ather Energy to enable next-generation mobility solutions. Infineon’s SiC and GaN technologies will improve energy efficiency and accelerate the mass adoption of electric mobility. This partnership reinforces our long-term commitment to supporting India’s clean energy and e-mobility goals.”

Ather Energy: Driving Forward: Smarter, Safer, and Greener EVs

The collaboration will explore next-generation innovations in vehicle safety, sensing, and intelligent system control, making electric mobility safer and more appealing to Indian consumers. Ather and Infineon aim to simplify EV architectures, enhance lifecycle reliability, and unlock cost efficiencies—making electric vehicles more accessible and future-ready.

As India positions itself as a global EV leader, the Ather–Infineon alliance sets a powerful precedent in aligning advanced technology with sustainable transportation goals.
